Cuba: future sanctuary for cosmetic and sex-change procedures?

Cuban doctors are appreciated around the world. I don’t have a clue why does it differ from other Latin-American physicians, especially the ones from the least developed countries –both live alike patient conditions. However… today I read that Cuba has opened their laws to sex-change practices.

It is a great deal for Mariela Castro, director of the National Sex Education Center. Also a big step compared to the struggles for same sex marriage taking place in the US. But, does it have anything to do with it? Could this become a major input for Cuban tourism? Is it going to give Cuba a higher rank in sex tourism?

Will there be broad implications for this measure? Even foreign doctors’ migration to Cuba?
What will be next? Castro's daughter seems to look at artificial insemination for lesbians.
The good news, so far, is for the 20 to 30 transsexuals in Cuba that could undergo the procedure.
